MTU Brings Latest Propulsion Systems to Cannes and Monaco

Rolls-Royce is showing off its latest state-of-the-art propulsion systems and service solutions from MTU for motor and sailing yachts at this year’s yacht shows in Cannes and Monaco. At the Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes, which takes place from September 12 to 17, MTU will be presenting a new close-to-production prototype hybrid system based on its 16-cylinder Series 2000 engine on Stand Jetee 179. The focus will also be on models of the Pininfarina bridge components and MTU’s Premium Yacht Service.

Heesen Shipyard Awarded Deal to Install MTU Engines

Rolls-Royce and Heesen Yachts, the Dutch shipyard and a manufacturer of displacement and semi-displacement motor yachts, have enjoyed a close collaborative partnership for decades in the field of marine propulsion technology. Rolls-Royce Showcases New Yacht Engine at FLIBS

Rolls-Royce will be marketing the 10-cylinder version of its advanced MTU Series 2000 M96L yacht engine at the 2016 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from Nov. 3 to 7 . A 12-cylinder version of the engine will be showcased at MTU’s booth (engine tent 1212/1215). Also on display will be MTU’s Blue Vision New Generation ship automation with integrated Joystick System, which will allow visitors to steer a virtual yacht in a simulation. The MTU brand is part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems.

MTU's Yacht Offerings on Display in Monaco

Press release - Rolls-Royce will present MTU propulsion systems and automation products for megayachts at the Yacht Show in Monaco from September 23-26, 2015. On show on Stand QC9 on the Quai Chicane there will be a model of an MTU Type 20V 4000 M93 engine combined with an electric motor in a hybrid configuration. Visitors will be shown a variety of drive modes from silent mode through to electric mode. The MTU brand is part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems within the Land & Sea division of Rolls-Royce.

Roll-Royce, SunSeeker Agree on MTU Engine Contract

Press release - Rolls-Royce and British luxury yacht manufacturer Sunseeker International have agreed a new general contract for the supply of MTU Series 2000 and Series 4000 engines for a range of yachts including three new models. MTU’s Yacht Products on Display in Southampton

Rolls-Royce is set to showcase MTU’s latest offerings for the yacht market, including propulsion systems, bridge components, automation products and service/support package, at the Southampton Boat Show from September 11-20, 2015. On display will be the new Series 2000 M96 yacht engine from MTU, part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems within the Land & Sea division of Rolls-Royce. The new power unit meets the U.S. EPA Tier 3 emission standard for leisure craft and offers improved acceleration capabilities and economical fuel consumption, according to the manufacturer.

MTU's New Yacht Offerings on Display

At the Yachting Festival in Cannes from September 8-13, 2015, Rolls-Royce is presenting the latest MTU propulsion systems and automation products for yachts and the Premium Yacht Service global customer service and support program, which is tailored specifically to the yacht market. Making its debut on Stand JETEE153 will be a remote control desk featuring the latest Pininfarina-design bridge components together with a simulator that will allow visitors to test out all functions. The new bridge components will be on the market from spring 2016.

The Rolls-Royce brand MTU is at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, showcasing its propulsion and system solutions for mega yachts.The range includes both standardised drive packages and customised system solutions, such as the E Drive system incorporating diesel engines and electric motors, transmission, electronics and energy storage system. The MTU portfolio combines the benefits of diesel-powered drives with those of purely electrically powered alternative drive systems.
