Aquila Power Catamarans Adds New Sales Manager

Aquila Power Catamarans has introduced their new Sales Manager Anna Nowotarska who will oversee all sales in Europe.Nowotarska is an experienced Sales Manager and Yacht Broker with over 10-years in the yacht industry, specializing in multihulls and catamarans. Having previously held positions at Polestar Yachting and Sunreef Yachts, she has been involved in custom new built projects both power and sailing, with renown shipyards and naval design bureaus, as well as sales of serial production yachts and pre-owned vessels.

First Class Sailing Builds Fleet with Two Beneteau Oceanis 38.1

Ancasta has announced that First Class Sailing has purchased two new Beneteau Oceanis 38.1.The Beneteaus will be used as part of the sail training which First Class Sailing offers, including RYA courses from Competent Crew to Yachtmaster Ocean, boat handling and mile building sailing weekends plus more.Ancasta is the largest Beneteau Power and Sail dealer in the UK and the largest boat sales network in Europe.The Beneteau Oceanis 38.1 model has been chosen for its cruising comfort. It features two helm stations, a mainsail arch, and a spacious cockpit.

Shipbuilding: Hurtigruten Hybrid Construction Forges Ahead

Norwegian company Hurtigruten, the world’s largest expedition cruise operator, is continuing to push the boundaries when it comes to green travel with its order for three hybrid-powered vessels nearing completion, the first ship being due for delivery in May 2019.Two of these revolutionary ships are currently under construction at the Kleven Yard in Ulsteinvik, Norway, the MS Roald Amundsen and its sister ship, the MS Fritjof Nansen, both of which are custom-designed to cope with some of the most extreme conditions seen on our planet, each having a specially-designed, ice-strengthened hull.

Derecktor to Develop New US Superyacht Hub

St. Lucie County Commissioners unanimously chose Derecktor Shipyards to create and manage a facility servicing large yachts in Fort Pierce, Fla. on Nov. 14. Located about 100 miles north of Fort Lauderdale and about 40 miles north of Palm Beach, the shipyard will develop a proposal for a mutually agreeable lease and contract to develop the 290-acre port, with deep water draft, easy land access and no fixed bridges.Derecktor was established in 1947 by the late Bob Derecktor, a competitive sailor in his own right with his personal fleet of “goose” sailboats…

SunStone Orders Third Expedition Cruise Vessel at CMHI Yard

Miami-based  SunStone Ships has declared option number two at CMHI shipyard after signing a long-term charter contract with Victory Cruise Line for the vessel, with a total of three newbuilds now under construction at the Chinese yard.A press release from the manager of passenger ships across the globe said that it  originally placed one firm contract and nine options on Ulstein deliveries of expedition cruise vessel designs and equipment packages back in 2017.All ten vessels are part of SunStone Ships’ series of vessels in the ‘INFINITY-class’.

MS EUROPA 2 Meets Breakdancing
