Reliant Yachts Unveils Unique New Build

Reliant Yachts of Newport, R.I. has announced a new build under contract for a 40’ tender utilizing the X series platform. Ewing continues, “The X40L is many things: superyacht luxury tender, car carrier, utility vehicle, landing craft, dining tender, scuba platform, water disco, floating galley, and jet boat … and I probably have left something out. The design was in collaboration with a client with specific and clear requirements for this boat, and I don’t believe we would have developed a design such as this without the creative push from our client”.

Heesen Delivers 5000 Aluminium Class Vessel

Heesen Delivers White, 5000 Aluminium Class

Heesen has delivered the YN 18250 White.At 50 meters, with a Gross Tonnage just below the 500GT threshold, this semi-displacement motor yacht is the latest in the award-winning 5000 Aluminium class.Extensive sea trials took place in the North Sea in good weather conditions, with waves up to half a meter. Seventh in the 5000 Aluminium class, White proved to be very responsive during her sea trials, reacting to steering commands instantaneously thanks to the large rudders in conjunction with the power steering unit.

Heesen Sells 60m Full Custom Motoryacht

Heesen has sold the first contract in 2018, a full custom 60-meter Fast Displacement steel hulled motoryacht for delivery in 2021. At 60 meters, YN 19360 – Project Falcon – is the largest steel yacht built by Heesen to date. Chris-Craft Will Launch a New Design at the Miami Boat Show

Chris-Craft has announced the world premiere of the Launch 28 GT at a press conference at the 2018 Miami International Boat Show. The Launch 28 GT is a new hull and an entirely new design for Chris-Craft. The new Launch 28 GT has a walk-through transom and reversible sun pad that moves forward and backward for lounging, or additional seating while underway. Available with the option of sterndrive or outboard, the customizability is endless. From metallic paints and cross-stitched upholstery, the Launch 28 GT will also showcase a new upholstery pattern from Chris-Craft throughout the cockpit.

AMELS Bags Order for 78-meter Full Custom Yacht

Dutch yacht builder AMELS announced a new order for a 78-meter AMELS Full Custom yacht (256 ft) by Espen Øino with the contract signed during the Monaco Yacht Show 2017. Wärtsilä Bridge Systems for Two New Mega Yachts

Wärtsilä informs it has been contracted to supply its Nacos Platinum integrated bridge system for two new mega yachts: one an 85 meter long vessel and the other 91 meters long, both being built in Greece. Dutch shipbuilder DAMEN, in cooperation with its luxury yacht builder AMELS, has announced the sale of its second SeaXplorer – a highly customized 75-meter luxury expedition yacht with exceptional capability for heli-skiing, diving and other tropical and polar adventures. Oceanco Delivers 110-meter Jubilee

The 110-meter motor yacht Jubilee delivered last week by Dutch builder Oceanco not only features a particularly striking exterior profile created by Lobanov Design and a distinguished interior by Sorgiovanni Designs, but also is the largest yacht ever built at Oceanco and has the distinction of being the largest yacht ever built in the Netherlands. “Burgess introduced this project to Oceanco and we provided technical consultancy and project management as owner’s representative throughout the entire build process,” said Joe Cic, from Burgess.

Largest Ever Dutch-built Yacht Launched

Oceanco’s newly built mega yacht Jubilee, with exterior styling by Lobanov Design, grand interior by Sorgiovanni Designs and owner’s representation by Burgess, is the largest yacht ever built in The Netherlands. British luxury boat manufacturer, Fairline Yachts, releases the first computer generated imagery of its stunning new Squadron 53. The boat, which is the third variant from Fairline Yachts’ popular 53ft range, will be launched at Boot Düsseldorf on January 21, 2017. Renowned superyacht designer, Alberto Mancini, has added his design expertise to this new Squadron. The boat is based on Fairline’s existing 53ft hull but features a new design from the deck upwards courtesy of Mancini, showcasing the future direction of Fairline’s exterior styling.

Superyacht Ulysses Equipped with 8 Heavy-duty Cranes

One of the world’s largest dedicated luxury explorer yachts, the 107 meter Ulysses, is equipped with eight PALFINGER MARINE cranes in total. Two heavy duty foldable knuckle boom cranes, four extension booms (type PK 90002 M) and two smaller compact cranes. In March 2016 the yacht was delivered to her owner. Ulysses is the first private superyacht undertaken by Norwegian shipbuilder Kleven and reaches a top speed of 16 knots. Ulysses can accommodate 60 guests over seven decks and offers amenities including a helicopter landing pad, helicopter garage and a swimming pool.

MarineMax Launches Galeon on The Great Lakes

MarineMax Port Clinton has announced that they will be introducing Galeon Yachts to the Great Lakes market. Galeon is not well known in the United States. However, Galeon has been manufacturing yachts for more than 30-years and is recognized throughout Europe and around the world for their commitment to innovative designs and exceptional craftsmanship. Brooklin Boat Yard Begins Custom 91-foot Sloop

Brooklin Boat Yard of Brooklin, Maine, has begun construction of a custom 91-foot cold-molded, flush-deck sloop for a repeat customer. The design is by Bruce Johnson and the Brooklin Boat Yard design office. The boat will take 18 months to build and will be delivered in the spring of 2018. The yacht is designed primarily for high-performance cruising along coastal U.S. waters. Featuring a completely flush deck, the yacht has an aggressively raked bow and reverse transom, teak deck and a varnished mahogany toe rail.

ASIS Delivers First 9.8m Amphibious RIB

Following the success of the ASIS Amphibious RIBs 7.1 and 6.1m, and in response to popular demand; ASIS just developed, tested and delivered its biggest amphibious RIB ever manufactured yet; A 9.8 meter Black Rigid Inflatable Amphibious boat. This boat is intended for private use, and will reach its owner in The United States in September. The Sealegs amphibious system available on the ASIS 9.8m RIB consists of motorized, retractable and steerable wheels, powering the boat with off-water capabilities The entire system is marinised and stays completely out of the water while underway.

Refit River Cruiser Sets Sail for Crystal

The newly renovated vessel Mozart, which began passenger service in July 2016, marks Crystal Cruises’ first venture into European river cruising. Before for the revitalized river cruiser Mozart set sail, Crystal Cruises contracted R&M Sea Level Marine to completely renovate all the vessel’s cabins, suites and the reception lobby. The refit took place from April 24 to July 6 in Linz, Austria. Designed by II BY IV Design of Toronto, renovations included completely redesigned accommodations with all new bathrooms and complete renewal of all furniture and finishes.

Gulf Coast Shipyard Group (GCSG) has delivered the Motor Yacht Imagine. The M.Y. Imagine, a Trinity built yacht, is a 193’x 32’x 14’6” custom designed semi-displacement aluminum hull and superstructure vessel that was constructed in GCSG’s yard located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The vessel meets the highest quality yacht standards in the world. It was designed by GCSG and is ABS classed for commercial yachting service. M.Y. Imagine is designed to accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 14 including a captain.

HH Catamarans Choose Vesconite for Daggerboard Bearings

In concert with the notion of luxurious performance, HH Catamarans utilizes a push-button control system to raise and lower the curved "C" daggerboards in their HH55 and HH66 models. The company chose Vesconite as its bearing material for the board trunks. The polymer provides exceptional low friction, and the strength and tight tolerances needed to ensure the foils remain rattle-free, whether up or down. Vesconite was selected over other options due to its hardness, lubrication and machining properties. "It suits our usage very well," said Paul Hakes, HH Catamaran president.

MarineMax has delivered the first Azimut Magellano 76 at the MarineMax Pompano Yacht Center. One Hull Type – Two Customized Superstructures

The first of two 24 m Custom Explorer Yachts is now ready for outfitting. These two yachts may look different, but are in fact the same design, with an exterior customized according to the Owner’s preferences. The yachts are designed to be operated by only two persons in keeping with current trends towards short handed operation. Fairline Yachts Rolls First Boat off Production Line

Fairline Yachts announced the first boat manufactured since the formation of the new company will be rolling off the production line on March 3. The boat, a Targa 48 GT, which was bought through Fairline Yachts’ London based dealership, Bates Wharf, is ready for her new owner to enjoy this coming boating season. Tetrahedron Super Yacht Can 'Levitate'

London-based architect Jonathan Schwinge designed the pyramid-shaped yacht called the Tetrahedron Super Yacht. Billed as aviation on the sea, the radical concept from a London-based architect flips traditional yacht design on its head with a complete rethink. The futuristic vessel, called Tetrahedron Super Yacht, ‘levitates’ thanks to a vertical strut attached to a submerged torpedo-shaped hull, but it retains all of the luxuries one would expect on a multimillion-pound ship.

Compact Genset Muffler Fits Tight Spaces

Fitting a generator and its exhaust system into a new build or a retrofit can be challenging, especially in a confined engine room. Marine Exhaust Systems said it aims to solve the space problem with its new whisper-quiet Series 4 Thinline Wall Pack Generator Muffler. Currently designed for up to 35 kilowatt gensets, the muffler is 12 inches wide, 17 inches tall and four inches deep. Its compact, low-profile size makes it suitable for any marine application, and it can be mounted on the hull side, a bulkhead or within the recess of a generator body.

Damen’s New Yacht Range Sails to the Extremes

Damen’s new SeaXplorer yacht range brings true capability to expedition yachting, from extreme polar to remote tropical areas. The world’s first purpose-built, Polar Code compliant range of expedition yachts has been launched by Dutch shipbuilder Damen and its luxury superyacht division, Amels. Burger Boat Signs on to Build Explorer Yach

Burger Boat Company has signed on to a project to build a custom 31.55-meter full displacement steel and aluminum Explorer Motor Yacht. The vessel's modern exterior design and contemporary interior décor were developed by designer Luiz de Basto of Miami, who worked closely with the owner to create an oceangoing, long-range explorer yacht for cruising and fishing the world's sportfishing hot spots, the shipbuilder said. Powered by twin Caterpillar C18 main engines, the vessel will have a cruising range of approximately 4,000 nautical miles at 9.5 knots.

MTU’s Yacht Products on Display in Southampton

Rolls-Royce is set to showcase MTU’s latest offerings for the yacht market, including propulsion systems, bridge components, automation products and service/support package, at the Southampton Boat Show from September 11-20, 2015. On display will be the new Series 2000 M96 yacht engine from MTU, part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems within the Land & Sea division of Rolls-Royce. The new power unit meets the U.S. EPA Tier 3 emission standard for leisure craft and offers improved acceleration capabilities and economical fuel consumption, according to the manufacturer.

Yacht Designers Join Forces

After achieving success from the public disclosure of The Belafonte a few months ago, the Milan-based design firm Federico Fiorentino decided it was worth taking the 50-meter concept a step further. As the yacht was perfectly suited to being coupled with the revolutionary Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF), Mr Perry van Oossanen invested time and resources in a preliminary study on The Belafonte. This in turn officially paved the way for collaboration between the Italian design firm and the well-known Dutch naval architecture firm.

New 33-meter Beiderbeck Motoryacht from Horizon

A new vessel from Beiderbeck Designs: in Taiwan, the yacht designers from Bremen are using the technical platform of a 33-meter long Horizon motoryacht for its latest commission for an experienced German owner. The customized 108-foot long double decker with its half-raised pilothouse (RP) on a tried and tested hull is already under construction and will be equipped with 2x 2,600 HP MTU-engines. This high-sea cruiser will enable passengers to directly experience the elements from every angle. The launch is scheduled for the start of 2017 and will be from the Horizon superyacht shipyard.

Filippetti Unveil Navetta 35 Motor Yacht

Italian builder Filippetti Yachts has unveiled the brand new Navetta 35 design. The new design is principally on a three-deck design -Lower, main, upper with an open air sun deck area. The 35 metre project has been developed to adhere to the strictest environmental standards, without sacrificing guests’ experiences with large deck spaces and a high level of comfort. The tri-deck superyacht will present a distinctive image, with a mix of sporty and elegant lines, with a wide bridge deck and forward facing windows for the master cabin on main deck below.

American shipyard Hatteras Yachts announced that its flagship Hatteras 100 Raised Pilothouse (100RPH) Motor Yacht will make its European debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in France, September 8-13, 2015. The 31M motor yacht scheduled to be on display in the water in Cannes is a sister ship of the builder’s first 100RPH, the motor yacht introduced to the U.S. market in 2013.
