Reliant Yachts Unveils Unique New Build

Reliant Yachts of Newport, R.I. has announced a new build under contract for a 40’ tender utilizing the X series platform. Ewing continues, “The X40L is many things: superyacht luxury tender, car carrier, utility vehicle, landing craft, dining tender, scuba platform, water disco, floating galley, and jet boat … and I probably have left something out. The design was in collaboration with a client with specific and clear requirements for this boat, and I don’t believe we would have developed a design such as this without the creative push from our client”.

Preview Fairline's Line-up for Boot Düsseldorf 2018

New Grand Banks Motor Yacht Completes Sea Trials

Caterpillar Marine has announced the successful sea trial of the Grand Banks Yachts, Ltd. GB60-03 which is powered by a pair of Cat C12.9 supercharged and turbocharged diesel engines. GB60-03 has a length of 65' (19.9m), a beam of 19' (5.85m) and a draft of 4' (1.4m). During the successful sea trial, GB60-03 achieved a top speed of 33 knots. The common rail C12.9’s installed in GB60-03 are capable of delivering 1000mhp@2300rpm while meeting EPA Tier 3, IMO II, EU Stage IIIA and RCD emission requirements.

Maktec Signs On Round-the-world Record Attempt

Team Britannia, the organization behind the latest attempt to set the world-record for sailing around the world in the fastest time, has appointed Yorkshire-based Maktec Marine to provide technical support for its engine fuel and oil performance. Meet the "GadCooler"

Ship cooling technology has a new name. Eminating from Finland, Gadcooler is a new ship cooling tech that is designed to save energy. Targeting the ferry and cruise ship sectors to start, the company recently announced its first installation success onboard Eckerö Line's cruise ferry m/s Finlandia over a period of two years. To help savve fuel the system uses existing onboard excess waste heat sources to provide chilled cooling water for the vessel's air-conditioning needs, replacing the need to run onboard cooling compressors.

Yanmar Rolls Out New Marine Power Offerings

Yanmar has already introduced several new products for the marine market in 2018, including a new common rail inboard marine diesel engine touted as the world's smallest, higher horsepower offerings in its mid range series, and expanded joystick controls. Yanmar Marine International has launched the latest addition to its family of new generation common rail (CR) diesel engines, the compact Yanmar 3JH40 inboard engine, at boot Düsseldorf. The three-cylinder 3JH40 has been developed as the marine industry’s smallest CR inboard diesel engine, Yanmar said.

Chris-Craft Will Launch a New Design at the Miami Boat Show

Heesen Delivers VanTom

VanTom, the sixth yacht in the popular 50 meter semi-displacement class designed by Frank Laupman at Omega Architects has been delivered. The delivery took place in international waters on February 14, 2018 after intensive tests in the rough winter waves of the North Sea. The sea trials took place on January 12 and 29 in Beaufort 4 and 6, with North Westerly winds and waves up to one meter. Mercury Introduces V-6 FourStroke Outboards

Mercury Marine has introduced its new V-6 FourStroke outboard family and the expansion of its SeaPro commercial line at the 2018 Miami International Boat Show. The new engine family, which builds on Mercury’s 75-150hp FourStroke outboards, features 175hp, 200hp and 225hp FourStroke outboards and a V-6 200hp SeaPro commercial outboard. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will hold the naming ceremony for its second expedition ship, the HANSEATIC inspiration on October 13, 2019 against the backdrop of the Belgian port city of Antwerp. BDRY: First Freight Futures ETF Debuts

Royal Huisman Turns Its Largest Hull Ever

Another milestone at Royal Huisman: the hull of the three-masted schooner under construction since June 2017, has been turned at the shipyard’s facilities in Vollenhove, Holland. With an impressive overall length of 81m / 266ft and a sturdy plumb bow – making her not only powerful but recognizable all over the world – Project 400 is the largest yacht built by Royal Huisman to date, and will be ranked in the top 10 of the world’s largest sailing yachts. Upon her delivery in 2020 this contemporary schooner will be the world’s largest aluminium sailing yacht.

Palumbo Superyachts Sells New 50-meter Superyacht

Palumbo Superyachts, yachting division of the Palumbo Group, has announced the sale of the new 50 meters motoryacht under the brand Columbus Yachts. The owner, who already owns a motoryacht built by the Group, again chooses Palumbo Superyachts to give life to his new project. Luca Dini Design signs exteriors and interiors of this new model, sold by Palumbo Superyachts after the new ISA Alloy 43 meters – also designed by Dini – now under construction in the Italian shipyard based in Ancona.

Oliver Design to Showcase Projects at Navalia

Oliver Design will be showcasing some of its latest projects on its stand at the Navalia trade fair, which runs from May 22 to 24 , in Vigo, Spain.Recent projects from the Spanish firm, which specializes in naval design and architecture, include new state-of the-art vessels ranging from working vessels to luxury cruise ships. Heesen Delivers White, 5000 Aluminium Class

Heesen has delivered the YN 18250 White.At 50 meters, with a Gross Tonnage just below the 500GT threshold, this semi-displacement motor yacht is the latest in the award-winning 5000 Aluminium class.Extensive sea trials took place in the North Sea in good weather conditions, with waves up to half a meter. Seventh in the 5000 Aluminium class, White proved to be very responsive during her sea trials, reacting to steering commands instantaneously thanks to the large rudders in conjunction with the power steering unit.
