Dan Lenard crosses Atlantic on the world’s greenest sailboat.

Like another Italian explorer who set sail from Spain to discover a new world, Christopher Columbus, renowned superyacht designer Dan Lenard is making the same journey. However, Lenard is creating a whole, new world as he personally tries to change the marine industry, embarking upon a solo, transatlantic crossing using no hydrocarbons or electronics in his prototype sailboat, Vela 33.Without any technology - no GPS, no compass, no autopilot, no fuel, no engine, no battery and no generator -  Lenard will navigate the Atlantic solely by sight, stars and sun.

Oceanco's Project Bravo Yacht Breaks New Ground

Oceanco's 109m/357ft 'Project Bravo' was launched on November 17, 2018. Bravo, with  naval architecture by Lateral Naval Architects, exterior design and layout by Nuvolari Lenard and interior by Reymond Langton Design,  is unlike any preceding project by Oceanco. It is the first Oceanco to use its  LIFE (Lengthened, Innovative, Fuel-efficient, Eco-friendly) design.

Oceanco's Jubilee Honored

Oceanco’s 110 meter motoryacht Jubilee has won the 2018 International Yacht and Aviation Award for the Best Power Yacht Design in the over 80 meter category.With exterior styling by Lobanov Design and interior by Sorgiovanni Design, Jubilee is the largest yacht ever built by Oceanco, and was also the largest yacht ever built in the Netherlands at the time of her launch. The awards ceremony took place on May 19th in Venice. Igor and Yulia Lobanov of Lobanov Design were on hand to receive the award along with Oceanco’s Group Marketing Manager Paris Baloumis.

World's Largest DynaRig Sailing Yacht Delivered

Oceanco Yacht delivered 106.7M (350 ft) Black Pearl— the largest Dynarig sailing yacht in the world. This three-masted sailing yacht Black Pearl is unlike any yacht the world has ever seen. This unique and complex vessel is the realization of a discerning owner’s vision. She is the result of an elaborate and successful collaboration on the part of an international group of designers, engineers, naval architects, builders and project managers. The designers Ken Freivokh Design, Nuvolari Lenard and Villate Design all played a significant role in Black Pearl’s design evolution.

ABB’s Azipod propulsion will power Oceanco’s visionary superyacht inspired by Polynesian canoes and outfitted with the latest technology. Perfectly suited to the canoe form, ABB’s contra-rotating Azipod technology achieves a 10 percent propulsion efficiency improvement. The ABB technology has become the industry standard in the cruise segment since its launch in 1990. Tuhura made waves on its launch by Dutch superyacht builder Oceanco at last month’s Dubai International Boat Show 2018.

Oceanco Contract to RH Marine

World-class superyacht builder Oceanco has awarded RH Marine with the contract for the electrical & automation system integration and overall electrical system responsibility of Oceanco’s new 100+ meter yacht. Both parties consider this collaboration to be the start of a productive long-term partnership. RH Marine is responsible for the delivery of the complete electrical & automation system. The system includes the newest version of RH Marine’s next generation of ship automation: Rhodium AMCS and the Energy Management System for optimization of energy consumption.

Compositeworks Opens Office in Antibes

Compositeworks, a shipyard specializing in superyacht and megayacht refits in La Ciotat and La Rochelle, has opened a new office in Antibes. This decision follows the acquisition of the Atlantic Refit Center last September and is a result of continued strong growth across every sector of activity, from emergency repairs and planned maintenance to major superyacht refits involving complex transformations, the shipyard said. The new location also brings commercial services closer to clients, many of whom are based in the Antibes & Monaco area.

Oceanco Delivers 110-meter Jubilee

The 110-meter motor yacht Jubilee delivered last week by Dutch builder Oceanco not only features a particularly striking exterior profile created by Lobanov Design and a distinguished interior by Sorgiovanni Designs, but also is the largest yacht ever built at Oceanco and has the distinction of being the largest yacht ever built in the Netherlands. “Burgess introduced this project to Oceanco and we provided technical consultancy and project management as owner’s representative throughout the entire build process,” said Joe Cic, from Burgess.

Largest Ever Dutch-built Yacht Launched

Oceanco’s newly built mega yacht Jubilee, with exterior styling by Lobanov Design, grand interior by Sorgiovanni Designs and owner’s representation by Burgess, is the largest yacht ever built in The Netherlands. At 110m length over all, 16.4m beam and just over 4,500 GT, the head-turning yacht has a sleek and original elongated profile that flows elegantly from bow to stern; with no fewer than six decks, her progressively longer horizontal lines make Jubilee distinctive. Igor Lobanov has created a unique and architecturally challenging design which creates a visual effect of multi-level decks.

Oceanco Delivers First Superyacht of 2015

Oceanco delivered the first superyacht of 2015 today, the 291-foot (89 meter) INFINITY. Built under the code name Y710, the yacht features an exterior design by Espen Øino and an interior design by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design and David Kleinberg Design Associates. INFINITY is a go-anywhere yacht powered by  twin 4,828hp / 3,600kW MTU engines capable of reaching speeds of 20 knots. The yacht has a master suite that includes a private exterior deck and whirlpool, and can also accommodate 10 guests in 6 guest suites, including 2 VIP cabins.

New Oceanco PYC Superyacht on Cayman Islands Registry

The Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI) says that Netherlands-based shipbuilder, Oceanco, recently launched 'Equanimity', the first superyacht of its kind, with regulatory oversight from the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry. The new superyacht measures 91.5 metres in length, and is the first to be designed and built to the Passenger Yacht Code (PYC). Being a certified passenger yacht means it can accommodate more passengers, in this case, sleeping 26 guests and 28 crew.

ISS Announces New Board of Directors

The ISS (International Superyacht Society) announces its 2014-2017 Board of Directors and Past Presidents Council. For the current year and based on a democratic voting system, ISS members have awarded eight board positions for three years for the 2014-2017 term. Representing global interests, both the ISS Executive Committee and Board of Directors are well represented. Of the executive committee, three members are based full-time in Europe, two full-time in the U.S. and one with homes and business interests in both regions. Of the general board, eight are based in Europe with 16 in the United States.
