GoFree Hooked fishing app.

GoFree – the provider of digital content and services and part of the Navico family of marine electronics brands including Lowrance, Simrad and B&G – announced today the development and release for Beta testing of new fishing app – GoFree Hooked.

GoFree Hooked app for iOS is a mobile tracking solution for anglers, with the capability to record and share every fishing trip – whether from a boat or the shore.

GoFree Hooked automatically saves the time, location and navigation track of each outing. The app features fast and simple “Catch” functionality, to quickly save fish details like photos, size, weight, species and other information. The app merges navigational data with user data for a complete picture of every catch that can easily be shared with others. All data is stored on the secure GoFree cloud server for easy access anywhere.

An industry-first, the GoFree Hooked app also delivers a powerful “Compete” feature so anglers can create their own personal tournaments among friends. Competition guidelines are easy to set up, and are customizable by key tactics, like weight or length and quantity. A record of the competition is saved based on the date, location, tournament name and participants – allowing anglers to prove their skills within a defined group or “community.”

“The GoFree Hooked app is the first of its kind – an app that gives anglers the ability to track their personal success and compete with others,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO, Navico. “With just a few simple taps, users can record, photograph and share their catch, and even set-up virtual competitions to challenge their friends anywhere in the world.”

The GoFree team is looking for a select set of keen anglers who are willing to beta test and provide feedback of the pre-release version of GoFree Hooked. Compatible with Apple iPhone 5, 5s, 6 and 6+ devices, users who are interested in the beta test can sign up at www.gofreehooked.com. GoFree Hooked will soon be available from the Apple Store.
