The International Marine Certification Institute has announced the certification of Stern 37 by Pijnen Jachtbouw BV.

The Stern 37 is a Cruiser Racer which was designed as a lightweight boat with the most possible comfort under deck. Simplicity was one of the top targets, not only under sail, but also while maneuvering in the marina. Certainly also safety aspects have been in the focus, thus the Stern 37 meets all stability requirements set by the RCD by far.

Giorgios Pijnen, CEO of Pijnen Jachtbouw explained, “The ergonomic cockpit arrangement combines a convenient cursing comfort with the possibility of competitive sailing in regattas.

The hull is a sandwich construction using vacuum infusion technology. The same applies for deck and superstructure. Also bulkheads and structural members are laid out as sandwich parts using foam as a core material. The keel is a hybrid construction with a lead bulb and steel fin. It is directly connected to the rigid bottom construction of the hull.

The mainsail and a 110 percent High aspect Fock are the main propulsion. Downwind an optional Spinnaker or Genaker can boost the performance if the crew is asking for additional fun. The standard sails can be reefed without leaving the cockpit. The mast is designed as 7/8 fractional rig. The double spreaders are angled to the aft. The backstay gives the possibility of an effective trim.

The Stern 37 provides two spacy double cabins with plenty of stowage. The salon with more than 2 meters head height is characterized by a longitudinal and a U-shaped seating area. Both can be used as a berth. Additionally the foldable table can be lowered to provide a third berth, if necessary. The pantry has a double sink and triple cooker/oven made by Force Ten. The pressurized water system provides hot and cold water in the pantry, the shower and even the cockpit shower”.

The Stern 37 is a Dutch boat of 2015 designed by Peter Bosgraaf (Amsterdam). She is built at Pijnen Jachtbouw BV in Tholen, The Netherlands.
