Monaco Makes Waves with Superyacht Showcase
This week's Monaco Yacht Show presents more than 100 superyachts including the spectacular Illusion Plus which is priced at $145 million and is the largest yacht ever built in Asia.
The now annual event, which began in 1991, will host 121 superyachts including 42 newbuilds making their debut.
The 88.5 meter long Illusion Plus boasts eight cabins, four lounges, a gym, beauty salon and elevator. Its sleek exterior was designed by Rainsford Saunders Design and built by Pride Mega Yachts at their shipyard in Yantai, China.
The Monaco event is the largest of its kind, and brings together yacht builders, suppliers, owners and related players including supercar manufacturers taking part in Car Deck, an exhibition of limited edition vehicles.
In total, almost 600 exhibitors ranging from interior designers to shipbuilders have signed up to take part in the show, which runs until Sept. 29.
