Asia Pacific Superyachts Brings Industry News to Monaco Show

Representing a dozen plus superyacht agencies, Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS) members will share news of changing regulations favoring visiting yachts and new high standard marinas the APS Stand DS73 at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, September 23-26.

"It's exciting to return to Monaco once again and we are looking forward to sharing news of the growth and new developments in Asia Pacific's tropical cruising paradises-including those of Maldives, Seychelles, Thailand, Andaman Islands, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and more," said APS director & co-founder, Gordon Fernandes.

"We are thrilled to discuss how Asia Pacific regions will enhance the worldwide marine tourism industry with revised charter license laws along with changes that will make it so much easier and less costly for more superyacht to visits. The Asia Pacific area is more accessible than ever. We have details of new high standard marinas that support superyacht visitors. In fact, development plans in Phuket include the deep-water marina project at Sapam Bay, which covers more than 61,000 square meters of waterfront and has government and provincial support."

Moving on to the Maldives, for example, is the Zamani Islands Superyacht Marina, featuring the first official superyacht marina and yacht club, spanning a 60,000-square-meter marina with 120 total berths (accommodating yachts over 30 meters and dockside moorings up to 200 meters). Additionally, in August 2026, the Uligan Yacht Marina (Haa Alify Atoll) signed its official land lease to formalize an international-standard recreational and commercial yacht hub. It was built to initially accommodate about 18 vessels simultaneously with integrated customs and immigration services for incoming international marine traffic.

"As of August 2026, the Colombo City Marina project at Port City Colombo is under active construction with an anticipated completion target around 2027. Major milestone developments have recently advanced the site, including high-profile luxury real estate launches and new strategic enterprise approvals by the Sri Lankan cabinet," added Priyantha Perera, director of APS Sri Lanka.
