Florida shipyard RMK Merrill-Stevens is adding a new Electronic Systems Division to the company.To lead the new business the company hired David Gratton, a new RMK Merrill-Stevens employee with experience in the electronics industry. Gratton’s career in electronics began in 1980 upon entering the U.S. Air Force. Gratton later worked on the environmental testing of NASA components for Teledyne Systems Company. Gratton has specialized in navigation, communications, and audio-visual, IT/networking, and PLC systems for commercial and recreational vessels.

MTU's Yacht Offerings on Display in Monaco
Press release - Rolls-Royce will present MTU propulsion systems and automation products for megayachts at the Yacht Show in Monaco from September 23-26, 2015. On show on Stand QC9 on the Quai Chicane there will be a model of an MTU Type 20V 4000 M93 engine combined with an electric motor in a hybrid configuration. Brazilian superyacht builder MCP Yachts has credited Seatorque Control Systems for contributing to the outstanding performance of its latest launch – the Hemisphere 140 Raffaella II. Mallory Marine markets a complete line of inboard and outboard engine replacement parts, oil and lubricants. Not affected by today's announcement is Mallory Ignition, the sister company to Mallory Marine, which remains a core brand of Prestolite Performance.
New NMEA2000 AC Monitor from Offshore Systems
Offshore Systems has introduced an NMEA2000 AC Monitor to measure onboard AC voltage, current and frequency and report them over the vessel’s NMEA2000 network. The monitor is the latest addition to a range of vessel monitoring and control systems designed for the NMEA2000 network by Offshore Systems, and is certified to the NMEA2000 network standard. The AC Monitor can typically measure AC sources such as shore power, generators and invertors. It can also measure the voltage and frequency on AC Bus Bar Systems.

Caterpillar Marine Power Systems is pleased to announce it has increased the warranty on Cat Brand Parts used in all marine applications from six months to one year. The warranty covers all parts used in Cat marine engines, Cat marine generator sets, Cat branded marine control systems and Cat marine transmissions. The extended coverage applies to all parts sold or utilized in service work on or after June 1, 2012. Of note, there will be no additional cost to customers for this significant extension of warranty protection.
