Yacht Manager Aquited of Manslaughter Charges

The director of a yacht management firm was cleared of manslaughter charges bought on by the death of four sailors in 2014.Four U.K. men – two in their twenties and two in their fifties – were killed when the 40-foot Cheeki Rafiki capsized in the Atlantic in May 2014 while returning across the Atlantic Ocean to Southampton from Antigua. Annapolis Yacht Sales Enhances Organizational Structure

In order to keep up with demand generated through rapid infrastructure growth and expansion, Annapolis Yacht Sales (AYS) is excited to introduce a new director-facing model of operations; driven by inside personnel promotions and a reimagined organizational structure. Beta Test for Improved Dometic Titan Chiller

Dometic Marine has  announced the release of a recent beta test for the Dometic Titan Chiller with new titanium tube condenser. The four-month test, on the 88-foot Hatteras yacht Esprit D’IV in the Chesapeake Bay, showed that the new titanium condenser stands up to frequent harsh cleaning and high water velocity far better than traditional condenser metals. Titan chiller 2Debris from invasive marine life has been increasing considerably in recent years, causing serious issues with the Hatteras’ chillers.

IMS American Marine Electronics (IMS) has announced the appointment of Nils Nelson as the company’s new director of sales. Nils brings over 25 years of domestic and international marine experience, including marine electronics sales and distribution, wholesale and retail marine product development, application engineering and project management. A third-generation maritime professional and licensed captain, Nils has extensive knowledge of marine systems for vessels ranging from sportfishermen to megayachts to commercial vessels.

Grande Yachts International announced they signed a long term agreement with Belzona Marine Products of Miami, Florida for the Chesapeake Bay and North Carolina Markets. Marina builder and dock manufacturer Bellingham Marine recently named Michael LaRocque General Manager of the company’s Northeast Division. LaRocque will be responsible for the day to day operations of the division including project administration, detailed scheduling of manufacture and construction activities, and budgeting. A veteran of the construction industry with a background in civil engineering, LaRocque has over 20 years’ experience, holding a number of varied positions in the civil engineering and construction management trades.

U.S. Superyacht Association Announces 2013-14 Directors
