Microplastic in the Oceans

The Volvo Ocean Race is providing an exceptional opportunity to test oceans for micro-plastics in remote and coastal areas and shed light on the scale and global distribution of micro-plastics marine pollution. USCG to Release Boating Safety App

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) said it will release its first boating safety App Saturday as the kickoff to this year's National Safe Boating Week. The app was mainly designed to provide additional boating safety resources for mobile device users. Features of the app include state boating information; a safety equipment checklist; free boating safety check requests; navigation rules; float plans; and calling features to report pollution or suspicious activity.
