The Agreement will be signed by His Excellency Khamis Juma Buamim, Drydocks World Chairman and Josef Kleindienst, CEO of Kleindienst Group. Drydocks World will offer high-end technical and operational support to the development of the islands including managing the dredging operations, as well as integrated offshore marine-based utility solutions for electricity generation, water, and sewage treatment plants for the islands.
Design and supply of appropriate equipment and deploying technical management teams are other aspects that will be executed. The Kleindienst Group will lease land at Dubai Maritime City, where their operations will be based.
Buamim states, “We feel deeply privileged to be part of this highly significant project in Dubai that would re-define high-end living. Drydocks World has the expertise and experience to integrate various technical elements to deliver genuinely sustainable long term solutions. Our company has advocated smart solutions that are highly capable, flexible and efficient to meet today’s demanding requirements. We are totally committed to the Government of Dubai’s initiatives to encourage sustainable living.”
Kleindienst commented, “Our agreement with Drydocks World is an important and significant step forward for The Heart of Europe project. It incorporates three key elements for collaboration in the future: Drydocks World will build our marine based utilities solutions, which includes the critical infrastructure for electricity, water and sewage; they will provide us with prime plots for our working barges within Maritime City; and, they will manage our ongoing dredging efforts around the islands”.
“Since construction started on The Heart of Europe project in January this year all of our major transportation requirements have been carried out from Dubai Maritime City. Drydocks World has significant experience in the areas we have agreed to collaborate, and it is one of the world’s few truly specialised shipyards. For example, they recently successfully completed the high-voltage direct current converter platform, DolWin beta.”
“We are looking forward to working closely with Drydocks world over the coming years. The company has a highly professional approach, and we have been impressed by the Emirati courtesy and support shown to us in all of our meetings with H.E. Khamis J. Buamim and his team.”
